The trip opened up opportunities in strengthening relations and two-sided cooperation in preserving world cultural heritage. At the meeting with Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation, Mr Enrico Padula shared hope of building and boosting the Italy - Hoi An relations in the future and expressed special concern of Consulate General of Italy in preservation and promotion value of Hoi An Ancient Town - a World Cultural Heritage site.
Accordingly, in upcoming time, the Consul General will propose a Italian city with many similarities with Hoi An so that two cities can establish a twinning relationship on cultural co-operation of the two countries.
Italy has many world historical, archaeological, natural and artistic heritage sites as well ass many experts in the field of heritage management and preservation. Meanwhile, Hoi An is currently oriented to become a smart heritage urban city. So through the meeting with the consul general, Hoi An city hope to have oppoturnity to connect with smart heritage cities in Italy in order to learn experience and receive useful suggestions in the process of oriented implementation.
It can be said that the visit of Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City has opened up many prospects for Hoi An city to connect with Italian heritage preservation organizations, thereby getting experience and resources for the preservation in the future, as well as had opportunities to promote and introduce Hoi An's cultural heritage in Italy.
