Accordingly, the People’s Committee of Hoi An city agreed to establish the Museum of “The Trade Route of incense and local products in Hoi An - Quang Nam” at the house No. 57 in Tran Phu street, Minh An Ward, and assigned the Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation to as a project investor.
The scale of the building has an area of 448.4m2 including renovating and embellishing the house into a exhibition space; collecting and documenting documentations and artifacts; making records of artifacts; restoring artifacts and exhibition; investing management equipments (camera system, fire protection, sound, wifi...) and virtual reality equipments (VR) with a total estimated investment of 3,000,000,000 VND (Three billion VND).
The establishment of the Museum of “The Trade Route of incense and local products in Hoi An - Quang Nam” aims to introduce the role and position of Hoi An in the trade road of incense and local products in Hoi An in Quang Nam, thereby affirming the rich history and outstanding tangible and intangible cultural values of Hoi An trading port - the World Cultural Heritage. At the same time, the museum will be a place of sightseeing, tourism experiences to connect and exchange cultural products with visitors.
