Conference to review activities of the World Heritage Club in Vietnam in 2024 - Division of Heritage Documentation and Information

On December 15, 2024, in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province, Ha Long Bay Management Board held an annual conference to review the activities of the World Heritage Club in Vietnam.

     Representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism MOCST, the Department of Cultural Heritage, the UNESCO Office in Hanoi, experts, scientists and representatives of the Centers/Management Boards of World Heritage Sites in Vietnam. Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc - Director of Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation attended this conference.
At the conference, delegates were informed about the 2024 report of the Heritage Sites, and discussed the club's key tasks and plans for 2025. In particular, information related to the revised Law on Cultural Heritage was recently passed by the National Assembly on November 23. In 2024, the World Heritage Club in Vietnam achieved many positive results in coordinating the promotion of heritage and tourism images of 9 Heritage Sites, diversifying exhibition forms; organizing many specialized seminars to create opportunities for professional exchanges between world heritage sites in Vietnam.

     In 2024, Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation has performed well the tasks of preserving and promoting the values ​​of Hoi An cultural heritage such as: implementing projects to restore and promote important relics likeHoi An Prison Relic; opening Museum of Local Products; promoting research, collection, documentation; digitizing heritage data; displaying, and promoting heritage regularly; building dossiers to propose for national intangible cultural heritage title,...

     At the conference, Ha Long Bay Management Board officially transferred the role of rotating Chairman of the World Heritage Club in Vietnam in 2025 to My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board
