Holding the opening ceremony of Museum of Local Products

As part of the series of activities to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) and the 25th anniversary of Hoi An Ancient Town being recognized as a World Cultural Heritage (December 4, 1999 - December 4, 2024), on December 3, Hoi An City People's Committee will hold the opening ceremony of Museum of Local Products at No. 57 Tran Phu street, Minh An ward., Hoi An city.
Museum of Local Products was transformed from an typical ancient house with a 2-storey structure in the town. The house has main building and rear building, which connected by a bridge building and a courtyard.
With a prime location right in the heart of the ancient town, Museum of Local Products is very close to other thematic museums like Museum of Traditional Medicine (46 Nguyen Thai Hoc street), Museum of Trade Ceramics (80 Tran Phu street), Museum of Folklore (33 Nguyen Thai Hoc street). Museum of Local Products has many spaces which will display about 130 images, documents and about 151 artifacts reprensenting historical and cultural values of many kinds of spices and local products in Hoi An city and Quang Nam province.
The establishment of Museum of Local Products is considered as a a creative way to introduce and promote indigenous values. In addition to historical documents, the museum also displays OCOP (One commune One product) products that are popular with many tourists and chosen as souvenirs when visiting Hoi An. The museum further affirms the role of Hoi An in the trade of spices and local products through historical periods; thereby contributing to the preservation and promotion of the precious value of nature - culture - people of Hoi An and Quang Nam. This is also consistent with the principles and purposes of the Hoi An thematic museum system according to the current international perspective.
Besides museum facility investment, Hoi An Center is also compiling the special edition named Book “Local Products of Hoi An, Quang Nam” which will be launched in the opening ceremony.
