Colombian Ambassador Visits and Works with the the Hội An Center for the Conservation of World Cultural Heritage
On the morning of March 19, 2026, at the headquarters of the Hội An Center for the Conservation of World Cultural Heritage, Mr. Phạm Phú Ngọc, Director of the Center, received and held a working session with Ms. Camila Polo Flórez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to Vietnam.
During the meeting, both sides spent considerable time discussing the preservation and promotion of the values of the Hội An Ancient Town World Cultural Heritage. In particular, heritage education for younger generations, as well as the management and organization of tourism activities in Hội An, were highlighted as key strengths in safeguarding heritage values in the context of international integration.
Ambassador Camila Polo Flórez expressed strong interest in the Center’s efforts to protect heritage sites and wished to learn from Hội An’s practical experiences. The meeting opened up new prospects for cooperation between the Colombian Embassy and the Center in cultural and social fields in the future.
This strengthening of international exchange reaffirms the position of Hội An Ancient Town within the global heritage network, while also promoting educational and communication programs aimed at raising community awareness of sustainable heritage preservation.
