Welcoming and working with UNESCO Hanoi Office

On the afternoon of April 23, 2021, Mr. Tran Van An, Deputy Director of Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation together with the Center’s experts welcomed and worked with UNESCO Hanoi Office to survey and research the Art of Bai Choi in Hoi An. The delegation was led by Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huong, Chief of Culture Unit, UNESCO Hanoi Office.
Currently, UNESCO Hanoi Office has been implementing the component of Project of Art makes Change to list groups of artists and art forms towards raising awareness and attracting attention of general public on outstanding issues, as well as encouraging creative thinking.

During this business trip, the delegation worked with Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation and the Center for Culture, Sports, Radio and Television of Hoi An city to document the information of the Art of Bai Choi in Hoi An.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Van An shared information related to the process of formation and change on the objects and contents as well as the preservation of this art form in Hoi An.

Bai Choi is a unique tourism product of Hoi An contributing to preserving the lyrics and singing of the ancestor and promoting and creating new contents associated with the real life of local people attracting visitors.
